Louise Wallace is the author of the novel Ash and four acclaimed poetry collections. She is the founder and editor of Starling, an influential online journal showcasing young writers from Aotearoa, and served as editor of Ōrongohau | Best New Zealand Poems 2022. A recipient of the Biggs Prize for Poetry and a former Robert Burns Fellow, Louise grew up in Gisborne and now lives in Ōtepoti | Dunedin.

Airini Beautrais is a Whanganui-based writer of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. She is the author of six books, most recently the essay collection The Beautiful Afternoon. Her awards include the 2021 Jann Medlicott Acorn Foundation Prize for Fiction and the 2024 Janet Frame Literary Trust Award. She is also a mother and science educator.
